Pay attention to three points when soaking dog food
We know that it is best to soak soft dog food for newly weaned puppies, but what should we pay attention to during this process? Generally speaking, we should pay attention to the following three points:
1. Water temperature: about 40-60 degrees warm water, but the water must be boiled in advance and then cooled to warm water (to prevent boiling water from causing the loss of nutrients in dog food, and hot water can easily burn dogs);
2. Amount of water: The dog food should be able to absorb just enough, so that the dog food after soaking can just absorb all the water, that’s it. This way you don’t have to pour out the excess water and lose part of the nutrients;
3. Time: Soak until the dog food is released (softened); the solubility of each type of dog food is different, so the soaking time will vary. Usually warm water is around 60 degrees, and 20 minutes is enough. At this time, the water temperature is about 30 degrees, which is just right for trial feeding.
