Postpartum diarrhea is not necessarily normal for dogs. You can first feed it some gastrointestinal conditioning food or medicine, and then keep observing. If your dog has diarrhea for a long time, it may be caused by bacteria or viruses after the dog's resistance has declined after giving birth, causing diarrhea. Once your dog shows other symptoms at the same time, it is recommended to take it to the doctor for examination. Because dogs are relatively weak after giving birth and have poor resistance, they are prone to diarrhea due to factors such as stress response, diet, and cold.

Care methods for dogs with postpartum diarrhea:

1. Fasting and observation. The dog needs to be fasted and observed for half a day or a day as soon as possible. If the dog does not vomit, you can appropriately feed it some light salt water and glucose water to help it replenish energy.

2. Regulate the intestines and stomach. You can feed it some probiotics appropriately to alleviate its diarrhea. Subsequent feeding should follow the principle of small and frequent meals, mainly liquid or semi-liquid food that is nutritious and easy to digest.

3. Keep warm. Warming measures should be provided as soon as possible to prevent the dog from lying on the cold floor. At the same time, the room temperature should be controlled to allow the dog to have a good rest.

4. Soothe your emotions. Since the female dog has diarrhea due to stress response, you can pet the dog to comfort her.

5. Check and treat. If the dog’s symptoms are not under control or other symptoms appear, it may be a disease of the reproductive system or digestive system. It is recommended to take it to the hospital for examination and treatment immediately.
