How to deal with a scalded cat:

1. If a cat is scalded by hot water, first move the cat quickly, check the burned area, and then use Gently wash the burned area with cold water. The purpose of rinsing the burnt area with cold water is to help relieve the high temperature on the skin surface and reduce the damage to the skin tissue. And the flushing time should be long and continuous, because it takes time for water to penetrate into the skin at the root of the hair. A continuous flow of water through the wound is more conducive to relieving the degree of burns.

2. After rinsing, the wound should be lightly bandaged with gauze. This is mainly to prevent the cat from licking the wound with its tongue. If you have a ready-made ice pack at home, you can apply it to the cat, but the time should not be too long to avoid freezing the cat's skin tissue.

3. When rinsing, it was found that the cat’s burnt area was very serious. Then you should immediately send it to a pet hospital for treatment after first aid treatment. Listen to the veterinarian's instructions, choose the appropriate ointment to apply, and then bandage it to prevent the wound from getting infected.

After a cat is burned, the owner should not choose medicine to apply to the cat, especially ointments, butter and other substances. Be sure to follow the veterinarian’s instructions for scientific care and management so that your cat can recover from burns as soon as possible.
