If a Husky is going to be sick, in addition to some well-known locations, such as the eyes, nose, teeth, etc. (the seven characteristics of a Husky before getting sick), sometimes it can also be reflected by the different colors of the tongue (tongue color).

The normal tongue color of dogs is generally light red, with a thin tongue coating, even tongue coating, moderate dryness and moisture, not slippery and not dry. The tongue color is redder in summer and lighter in winter.

1. A white tongue color indicates insufficient Qi and blood, which is more commonly associated with malnutrition, anemia, excessive blood loss or parasitic diseases. A pale tongue indicates extreme weakness.

2. A red tongue indicates heatemia. More common in febrile infectious diseases.

3. A purple-red tongue is seen in the late stages of febrile infectious diseases and intestinal volvulus.

4. Yellow tongue color usually indicates damp-heat syndrome, dark yellow color is more common in chronic hepatitis, and orange color is more common in acute hepatitis and blood parasitic diseases.

Changes in dog tongue color can provide a reference for initial diagnosis, but if you want to confirm the condition, please go to the hospital for a comprehensive diagnosis.
