The dog rabies vaccine can be postponed, but it should be injected as soon as possible when the dog is in a healthy state to produce protective antibodies earlier. Under normal circumstances, a booster shot is required seven days after vaccination to consolidate the antibodies in the pet's body. How often should dogs be vaccinated against rabies:

1. Dogs are generally vaccinated against rabies once a year, because the efficacy of the rabies vaccine is not long-lasting. It can only be valid for one year at most. In order to maintain the health of the dog and its own safety, it is recommended that the dog be vaccinated against rabies once a year.

2. Rabies vaccination needs to be administered after the dog reaches three months of age. Thereafter, it will be strengthened every 11 months.

3. After the dog receives the vaccination, it will take nearly half a month for the body to produce enough antibodies and the immunity to reach its peak. Therefore, the rabies vaccine is injected one month in advance every year. Rabies immunity can be seamlessly connected to protect dogs all year round without any window period.

4. If you forget to inject the rabies vaccine, there will be no problem as long as you re-inoculate in time. If you are bitten by another animal more than six months after receiving the rabies vaccine, it is still recommended that you need a booster shot of rabies vaccine immediately to avoid being infected with rabies virus.

5. If a dog shows signs of rabies such as hydrophobia or attacking people, the veterinarian must be notified immediately. The veterinarian will report it and treat the dog harmlessly.
