The treatment cycle for mild dog keratitis is generally 3-5 days, and the treatment for severe keratitis takes 2-3 weeks. The treatment cycle is related to the dog’s degree of infection, daily care and other factors. In most dogs, it is due to the owner's negligence that the disease worsens and becomes more serious due to the failure of the owner to detect the disease in the early stages. Therefore, compared with mild cases, it takes a longer treatment time for the dog to recover.

Treatment methods for dog corneal inflammation:

1. The inflammation needs to be eliminated first. The specific method is to rinse the dog’s eyes with 3% boric acid solution to remove the dog’s inflammation. Discharge from the corner of the dog's eyes. Then instill antibiotic eye drops into the dog’s conjunctival sac. To prevent iris adhesion, 0.5%-1% atropine sulfate can be used for eye drops, twice a day.

2. If the dog’s keratitis is severe, you can go to the pet hospital for anti-inflammatory injections and treat it with oral anti-inflammatory drugs.

3. Dogs with dry keratitis can be fed foods rich in vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, and vitamin D to help recover from keratitis.

4. Breeders should strengthen the care of dogs, minimize their outdoor activities, avoid strong light stimulation and dust falling into their eyes, and avoid fighting with other dogs and injuring diseased eyes.
