Cats can get obesity just like people. Generally speaking, this is a nutritional disease caused by excess fat. This is related to the cat’s breed, overnutrition, endocrine disorders, genetics and other factors. Research shows that female cats are more likely to be obese than male cats.

Causes of cat obesity:

1. Overnutritional diet: food with good palatability, high calories, excessive intake and insufficient exercise.

2. Suffering from endocrine diseases: cats such as hypothyroidism, hyperadrenocorticism, and hypothalamus damage.

3. Breed, age and gender: Cat obesity is related to breed, age and gender. Older cats are more likely to be obese, and female cats are more likely to be obese than male cats.

4. Cats sterilized and sterilized: Cats are also prone to obesity after sterilization.
