As we all know, all dogs participating in major dog competitions are purebred dogs, which is also the most basic condition for registration. In private kennels, breeding purebred dogs has always been one of the biggest selling points. Compared with other "mixed breeds", purebred dogs seem to be more favored by owners.

Although the appearance of purebred dogs is far superior to that of ordinary dogs, they also have some shortcomings. Due to the breeding of purebred dogs, many dogs have genetic defects and have major or minor genetic diseases. Many of these purebred dogs suffer from congenital epilepsy.

There are three main characteristics of epileptic seizures in dogs, which are sudden, transient and repetitive. According to the clinical symptoms, it is divided into major attack type and minor attack type. The occurrence of these two conditions has its own characteristics.

Dogs with major seizures will have symptoms in the early stages of the disease, such as being restless, shaking their heads, liking to hide in dark places, etc. These symptoms may only last for a few seconds or minutes, and often parents will not notice. to this question. But when the situation is serious, the dog will suddenly fall to the ground, develop opisthotonus, have paroxysmal spasms, and have swimming limbs, etc., which may last for a few seconds or minutes. After the dog recovers, he will show varying degrees of visual impairment, confusion, fatigue and other symptoms.

The symptoms of dogs with petit mal attacks are much milder than those of dogs with petit mal attacks. During the attack, the symptoms may be sudden, loss of consciousness, dilated pupils, and incontinence; it may also be just a sudden loss of consciousness, immobility, or slow reaction. In addition, the dog's body organs will also experience slight tremors, which are manifestations of epileptic seizures in dogs.

The onset of congenital epilepsy is generally between 6 months and 3 years old, and the incidence rate in miniature poodles and boxers is slightly higher than in other dogs. Such diseases cannot be observed in the early stages, but generally speaking, they will not cause fatal harm to dogs. In such a situation, parents must change their minds. Since they have chosen it, they must be responsible for it to the end and help the dog as much as possible. Getting through this is our only option.
