Treatment methods for meningitis in dogs:

1. Dogs are usually given steroids to suppress the immune system response that causes inflammation and also reduce swelling around the brain.

2. Let the dog inhale more oxygen to prevent the dog from experiencing symptoms of respiratory failure. You can also give the dog some medicine to relieve the dog's spasm.

3. When a dog suffers from steroid-responsive meningitis, it is usually treated with prednisone. High-dose prednisone can be used initially and then gradually reduced as the condition changes.

Causes of meningitis in dogs:

1. Meningitis is generally caused by bacterial or viral infection. These bacteria usually live in the eyes and nose. Or in the mouth, when an organ is infected, the bacteria continue to spread and infect the brain to form meningitis.

2. Some internal parasites can also cause meningitis when they migrate through the brain and central nervous tissue of dogs, such as roundworms and heartworms.

3. Non-suppurative meningitis is more common secondary to infectious diseases, such as canine distemper and rabies.
