Although the pregnancy period of dogs is not long, parents still need to pay attention to some issues if they want them to give birth to beautiful babies healthily. Today I will analyze for you what issues you need to pay attention to when it comes to your dog’s diet during pregnancy.

First we need to know whether the dog is pregnant. Here are a few ways to tell if your dog is pregnant.

Look

Female dogs will have pregnancy reactions 2-3 weeks after mating, with loss of appetite, restlessness and vomiting. After 3 weeks, the breasts became pink and enlarged. After 30 days, the abdomen is enlarged, the breasts are drooping, the nipples are elastic, the weight is increased, and the frequency of urination increases: after 50 days, fetal movement can be seen on the ventral side.

Touch

20 days after mating, an experienced person can touch the fetus in the uterus of the female dog’s abdomen. After 30 days, a flexible flesh ball the size of an egg can be felt when touched at the above location, which is the embryo.

Listen

30-35 days after mating, the fetus's heart sounds can be heard clearly by placing a stethoscope on the dog's abdomen and uterus.

Use

One week after dog mating, use the human "quick-acting pregnancy test solution" to detect whether the urine contains substances similar to human chorionic gonadotropin. If the urine test shows a positive reaction, it means that the female dog is pregnant, and a negative reaction means that she is not pregnant.

Note: False pregnancy is very common in dogs, especially in the weeks after estrus. Even if you are not pregnant, you may still have signs of pregnancy such as nipple enlargement and increased appetite. So taking your dog to the hospital for examination is the best way.

Secondly, everyone needs to know which foods must not be eaten during pregnancy.
