Cats can be artificially inseminated. Artificial insemination of cats is a breeding method that uses equipment to take the semen of male animals, dilute and preserve it, and then use equipment to inject the semen into the reproductive tract of female animals to replace natural mating. Artificial insemination technology can greatly improve the semen utilization rate of excellent male animals, promote the improvement of breeds, increase the pregnancy rate, and harvest more excellent offspring. At the same time, it can also prevent the spread of various diseases, especially reproductive tract infectious diseases.

Four steps of cat artificial insemination technology:

1. Semen collection: The most commonly used semen collection method is the false vaginal method.

2. Semen processing: Semen processing generally includes semen quality inspection, semen dilution and semen storage.

3. Induced ovulation: Cats are animals that induce ovulation. Naturally, only mating stimulation can induce ovulation. During artificial insemination, ovulation must be induced in the mother before insemination, and insemination is possible after semen is injected.

4. Insemination: In order to increase the guessing rate, another insemination can be performed after an interval of 24 hours. The insemination process should be strictly disinfected and handled carefully to prevent infection and damage. After insemination, the female cat’s buttocks should be gently tapped 1-2 times to stimulate the contraction of the vulva and prevent the incoming semen from flowing out.
