Should cats be vaccinated or neutered first?

Cats must be vaccinated before being sterilized. Otherwise, cats may be infected with viruses in the pet hospital or during postoperative care, which may put their lives in danger. The cat's resistance will decrease just after being neutered, and viruses can easily invade the body at this time. Therefore, it is the most appropriate and safest way to go after getting vaccinated.

Preparation items before cat sterilization:

1. Fast for 6-8 hours. Because anesthesia is required before the operation, the anesthetic has a stimulating effect on the gastrointestinal tract. In order to prevent the cat from vomiting after anesthesia, the cat must fast before the operation and drink a small amount of water.

2. When going to the hospital for surgery, the cat should be packed in a strong and sturdy bag. The bag should be large enough (an air box can also be used). After the operation, the cat can be allowed to lie flat with its neck flat. , so as not to inhibit breathing. Because it will take two hours for the cat to wake up after the operation, and it will become incontinent during this process, you can put an adult urine pad in the cat bag for the cat to lie on after the operation.

3. The cat’s eyes are open after anesthesia. To prevent the eyes from drying out, you need to put eye drops on the eyeballs or apply a little eye ointment.

4. The triple vaccine must be taken before surgery (it is recommended to take the injection one week before surgery).

5. Let the cat eat 8-12 hours after anesthesia to avoid damage to the intestines and stomach.
