Causes of postpartum convulsions in cats:

1. Postpartum hypocalcemia or postpartum madness in cats.

2. The intestinal absorption capacity of pregnant cats becomes poor, and insufficient calcium absorption can cause emergency epilepsy.

3. Insufficient nutritional supplements during pregnancy or excessive obesity can also cause this disease.

4. Cats eating too much salt during pregnancy can also indirectly cause this disease.

Symptoms of epilepsy in cats:

1. The dog begins to show restlessness, running around, fear, and staggering.

2. After the cat starts to withdraw, it will fall to the ground, breathe rapidly, sweat, and turn its eyes upward.

3. There are intermittent convulsions, the disease gradually improves, and death usually occurs within 2-4 days.

Treatment methods for postpartum convulsions in female cats:

Cats with acute epilepsy should be treated as soon as possible. Once treatment is delayed, it will make the condition worse. More severe cases may result in death.

1. Give female cats 10% calcium gluconate, 20-30ml each time, intravenously for 2 days, and take 10-15 calcium sugar tablets and 1-2 cod liver oil tablets orally at the same time.

2. Sedation, take sodium pentobarbital and inject it intravenously at 20-35ml/kg.
