Chow Chows are cute, and Chow Chow puppies are even more adorable. However, when pet owners choose to buy Chow Chow puppies, they are faced with a litter of fluffy dogs that are almost carved from the same mold. It is very difficult to choose. So how to choose? What about healthy Chow Chow puppies? Youpet editor introduces some methods for pet owners to choose Chow Chow puppies to ensure that pet owners buy Chow Chow babies that are not only cute but also healthy.

1. Preparations before selecting a Chow Chow puppy First, you must prepare some tools.

Including: spring scale, plastic bag, thermometer, box ruler, paper towels. Then we will measure the following indicators of the puppy: height, length, weight, and body temperature. The specific standard for Chow Chow is:

※Puppy Chow Chow body length (forehead to buttocks):

1:1 compared to the body height of a small Chow Chow (the height of the highest point of the withers);

※Puppy Chow Chow weight: about 7kg at 2 months old, increasing by 0.7kg every 1 week, the heavier the better;

※Puppy Chow Chow height: about 15cm at 2 months old, increasing by 1cm every 1 week (the hind legs are slightly higher than the front legs);

※Puppy Chow Chow body temperature: a little over 38 degrees. A 2-month-old Chow Chow puppy is basically a replica of its adult counterpart. Due to the growth of hair, the body shape of the Chow Chow changes almost every day. Whether you are looking for a pet dog or a racing dog, even a minor flaw can be a disaster in the long run.

2. Inspection of various parts of the Chow Chow After we are ready, we will start to inspect the various parts of the little Chow Chow:

1. Little Chow Chow head:

※Nose: A good puppy should be wide, the nostrils should be black, no spots, slightly cool and moist, and no secretions.

※Eyes: The eyes of a puppy should be small, clear and lively, without trichiasis, secretions and tears. In terms of shape, triangular eyes are ideal, while deeply sunken eyes are not good.

※Tongue: Check the pigmentation. It is best if the front and back of the tongue are black without spots, and the gums are also black.

※Teeth and Mouth: A good Chow Chow has neatly arranged teeth with a level, scissors bite. The upper teeth should fit (cover) the lower teeth closely in front of the lower teeth, without any gaps. Those with defective mouth shapes should be eliminated.

※Ears: clean, flexible in rotation, no odor.

※Skull: The skull is flat, with a slight turning point where it meets the mouth and nose.

2. Chow Chow neck:

※The neck of a healthy Chow Chow puppy should be slightly arched, forming an angle of 65 degrees with the horizontal line of the body, so that the Chow Chow can maintain an elegant posture during exercise. Eliminate those necks that look like they're "plugged in."

3, Little Chow Chow Skin:

※The skin and fur of the puppy should have no trauma, no clumps, no skin diseases, and no odor.

※The hair should be upright, not lying down over a large area, and have a light fishy smell. The color of the coat is not important at this stage. Check the color of its tail to determine the color of its coat when it grows up.

After mastering these skills, pet owners no longer have to worry about not being able to choose when faced with a litter of Chow puppies. As long as they compare a few of the points, I believe they will soon choose the Chow that makes them most excited. Doggy.
