The Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) was founded in 1906 by a group of cat lovers in the United States. It is a non-profit organization. The organization is headquartered in the United States and has chapters in other countries. CFA has formulated many breeding standards for different types of cats. Cat enthusiasts can register as members of the organization. If the members’ cats meet CFA’s standards, they can send their cats to exhibitions and competitions. So what are the CFA standards for Ragdoll cats?

ragdoll cat

The English name of ragdoll cat is: ragdoll. In English, rag means piece of cloth, and doll means doll. This kind of cat is named ragdoll, which means that they completely trust people's gentle personality. As the name suggests, ragdoll cats are just like children's toys. When you hold a Ragdoll cat, he will lie completely relaxed in the arms of his owner.

History: The exact origin of Ragdoll cats can be traced back to the 1960s, when Ann Baker, a woman living in California, began to breed Ragdoll cats. Her first breeding cat was named Ephine Joseph. Finn is an all-white mixed-breed long-haired cat. Amber was originally a Persian cat breeder. Before she started breeding Ragdoll cats, most of her cats were black. After she asked her neighbor to bring Josephine home, she went outdoors to look for the kittens that Josephine had given birth to after mating with different male cats. Anbeike found two kittens and caught them both. The breeder Anbeike found is called Warbucks. He has a white nose and a white tail. Anbeike let him mate with other female cats, and the kittens he gave birth to all had Siamese-like key colors.

Origin: United States

Temperament: Mild and quiet, with a high tolerance for pain, so injuries may go unnoticed. This type of cat is not suitable for outdoor play; they should be kept indoors. They can get along peacefully with children, dogs and the elderly, and they like to be with humans very much. They will greet their owners at the door and follow them around. Therefore, if you are a busy office worker and cannot spend too much time with them, it is best not to breed this breed, otherwise you will make their lives very unhappy.
