What foods can Siamese cats eat?

1.Cat food

Siamese cats can eat professional cat food and fresh food, and parents need to mix them. You can choose a suitable proportion of feeding, or you can feed Siamese cats fresh food 2-3 times a week. Allow the Siamese cat's taste to be adjusted so that it can adapt to and accept more foods with different tastes, and prevent the Siamese cat from becoming picky or even anorexic due to a long-term single diet.

2. Canned food

This type of food includes meat, fish, salt, jelly, vitamins, chemical color additives, water, and grains. Most foods are made from fish, chicken, beef, rabbit or animal offal. They contain 25% to 30% protein and can be used as the main ration for Siamese cats. Siamese cats can be fed canned food. Because they are sterilized, they are easy to store. Coupled with the large amount of water in it, the canning process and subsequent storage can also lower vitamin standards.

3. Dry food

These biscuits contain cereals, fish, meat, yeast flakes, vitamins, fats and pigments. They are cheaper than canned or semi-moist foods and are easier to store and carry. But they have the following disadvantages: they are low in fat and protein; and some people suspect that they can cause cystitis in Siamese cats. If you feed your Siamese cat dry food, be sure to let it drink water regularly.

4. Soft and wet food

These granules contain meat, soybeans, fats, vitamins, preservatives, chemical color additives, and often thickeners and sugar. The water content accounts for more than 33%. The nutritional value is not very high. Soft, moist foods are considered cat food because they contain just over 25% protein and have a lower fat content. This food is packaged in silver foil paper bags and can be stored but not as long as the other two categories of food.

5. Fresh food

If you mainly feed your Siamese cat food with canned food, you may be willing to make cat food with fresh food 1 or 2 times a week, as this is beneficial to the health of your Siamese cat. If you do cook specifically for Siamese cats, season with iodized salt. This trace element is particularly important for pregnant Siamese female cats as it prevents reabsorption of the fetus in the womb.

6. Meat

All meat eaten by Siamese cats should be cooked. Siamese cats are unable to chew food due to the structure of their teeth, so you should mince or finely chop the cat food, or feed the cat with large pieces of meat so that it can tear it into pieces by itself. If you use chicken for cat food, be sure to remove all chicken bones as Siamese cats are very prone to getting stuck on chicken bones.

7. Eating grass

If your Siamese cat insists on chewing grass or weeds, don’t panic. Green grass is good for Siamese cats. It contains certain vitamins and acts as an effective vomiting agent, helping cats to vomit up unwanted items such as hairballs. However, if Siamese cats often go to grass to graze, please note that the fertilizer used must be non-toxic.

8.Drinks

Drinks are essential for Siamese cats to maintain their health, although Siamese cats can survive by drinking less water than humans.

9. Water

Although strictly speaking, water is not food, it is a necessary part of cat food. Meat cat food should not only be high in protein but also contain a lot of moisture. Cats eating a high-protein diet produce large amounts of urea and therefore need to drink large amounts of water to remove this waste product through their kidneys. So, based on their size, do cats need more water than humans? In fact, they need less water because the concentration of urea in their urine is higher than that of humans, which helps them stay hydrated. And the amount of water evaporated when cats pant and sweat is negligible. Even big cats like lions have been recorded going without water for up to ten days. When feeding Siamese cats foods containing cooked fish, tripe, and certain canned foods, an animal of a cat's size should be given more fluids than it needs. In addition, Siamese cats also get a lot of the water they need every day through chemical reactions. When the fats and carbohydrates in cat food are digested in the Siamese cat's body, water molecules are produced.

10.Cat milk

The best thing is not to feed Siamese cats human milk. You can feed them cat milk. Cat milk is low in sugar and fat. Strictly speaking, milk is not a beverage, it is actually food, and its main value is that it can provide calcium and phosphorus. Feeding 200cc of milk to an adult Siamese cat can meet its needs for a day. However, some Siamese cats are not suitable for drinking milk and will suffer from diarrhea after drinking it. If your Siamese cat is allergic to milk, he may need nutritional supplements.
