Generally, it can be squeezed out once every 3 to 4 weeks. If the anal gland fluid is not cleaned in time, it will accumulate in the anal glands and cause inflammation, which will lead to symptoms such as difficulty defecation, anal swelling, anal itching, and frequent rubbing. In severe cases, surgery may be required.

How to squeeze the anal glands of a Bichon Frize:

1. First, feel the location of the anal glands of a Bichon Frize. If you can clearly feel two Adzuki beans, it means that the anal glands need to be cleaned.

2. Prepare gloves, paper towels, and clippers, appropriately cut the fur covering the anus, and locate the small holes on both sides of the anus.

3. Place your thumb and index finger on the anal gland, and squeeze slightly towards the middle. Do not use excessive force, otherwise it will cause pain to the Bichon Frize and may cause inflammation of the anal gland.
