Symptoms of rabid cats:

4. Increased saliva: Cats with rabies will have increased saliva secretion, drooping of the jaw and being unable to close it. Some cats may even suffer from shortness of breath.

5. Aggressive behavior: Cats with rabies, no matter how well-behaved they are, will exhibit uncharacteristically aggressive behavior, such as biting and scratching people.

Methods for dealing with rabies in cats:

1. If a cat with rabies is found, it should be killed immediately, buried deeply or burned.

2. When dealing with a bitten cat, the owner should first let some blood flow out of the wound to reduce virus absorption. Then rinse with soapy water and treat the wound with 3% iodine anhydride. If symptoms occur, symptomatic treatment can be provided according to the condition, such as sedation, antispasmodic drugs, and hormones such as hydrocortisone.

3. The bitten cat should be injected with anti-rabies immune serum at the same time, and injected at points around the wound. The dosage is approximately 1.5 ml/kg body weight. The immune serum should be injected within 72 hours after being bitten.
