When you decide to take your pet on a long trip, it is best to bring the following necessities, which may be able to save your favorite dog when necessary.

Medical supplies

·Medical records/vaccine books

If he or she is allergic to a certain drug or is receiving treatment, the doctor can learn about his or her illness history at the first time.

· Scissors

Can remove excess hair for later cleaning. Can also cut tape, gauze, plywood, etc.

· Bandage

Gauze, towels and even clean socks (baby diapers) can be used as bandage materials to help control bleeding and keep the wound clean; at the same time, it can also be used as a temporary support tool when a TA is fractured. Self-adhesive bandages are also a good choice because they won't stick to pet hair and can be removed easily.

·Medical tape

Can help fix the bandage.

· Thermometer

Used to determine whether TA's body temperature is too high (or too low). In order to facilitate the thermometer entering the body, it is best to prepare a bottle of lubricant or Vaseline. Also, make sure you have friends around you who can help you calm their emotions. If you are alone, it is best to go to the hospital and take your temperature again. At this time, his or her mood will be unstable due to pain.

Note: The normal body temperature of dogs/cats is 37.5-39℃.

· Disposable gloves

To avoid further infection when treating pet wounds, please discard immediately after use and cannot be reused.

· Tweezers

If your pet has a thorn or other foreign object stuck in its paw, you can use tweezers to help remove it. If you do it directly, it is likely to leave foreign body residues on the dog.

· Dropper/syringe

Can be used to clean wounds or take oral medicine.

· Towels/blankets/toys

Pets are likely to be scared because of injury. You can wrap them in a blanket. The familiar smell and warm feeling can help them calm down quickly. Moreover, it can also prevent him from accidentally hurting you due to his unstable emotions.

Essential drugs

· Sterile saline eyewash

If there is debris or smoke in his or her eyes, you can use eyewash to wash away the debris until they are clean.

·Chlorhexidine

Used to rinse wounds, it is gentle and non-irritating, and can play a disinfecting role.

Note: You can prepare a pack of wet wipes for auxiliary effect.

·Purified water

In addition to washing wounds/toxins, soothing burns, soaking paws, etc., it can also replenish moisture for TA.

Note: You can carry a folding bowl at the same time.

· Dishwashing liquid

Yes, you read that right, it’s dish soap. It can be used in emergency situations to remove toxins, especially residues from pet skin and hair, and is very effective. However, be sure to rinse it with clean water after use until there is no trace of detergent.

·Hydrogen peroxide

If your dog accidentally eats chocolate, coffee or other toxic substances, you can take 3% hydrogen peroxide orally at a dosage of 2-4 ml per 1 kilogram, which can help induce vomiting in your dog.

However, if the swallowing time has exceeded 2 hours, it is best to take it to the hospital for treatment.

Note: For information on foods that dogs/cats cannot eat, please refer to "I Need a Poison Testing Eunuch".

· Antibiotic ointment/hemostatic powder

If your TA has a wound, you can use ointment to prevent bacterial infection and relieve pain after cleaning. If the bleeding is severe, you can apply some hemostatic powder on the wound.

·Other commonly used drugs

For example, glucose chewable tablets can replenish energy when TA suffers from hypoglycemia; multi-enzyme tablets/pepsin tablets/multivitamins can effectively help dogs with indigestion and loss of appetite regulate gastrointestinal function;Glycerin suppository, it is very effective to squeeze it into the anus when the person is constipated; Phenobarbital, if the person has symptoms of epilepsy, can be taken before the attack, which can help control the condition; Diazepam/Chlorpropanil, can help relieve the pain of the person Symptoms of motion sickness.

Note: Diazepam/Chloropyrazole is a sedative and will interfere with TA's thermal regulation ability. Therefore, after taking it, remember to open the windows or turn on the air conditioner to keep the car cool, otherwise you may suffer from heatstroke or even death.

Finally, I would like to remind all parents that you can prepare a notepad and fill in the phone number or emergency contact person of the pet hospital near your residence in case of emergency.

The most important thing is that no matter what emergencies you encounter, please take a deep breath, calm down before taking action, and don't let panic affect your decision.
