A cat's estrus usually resolves in about a week. Female cats usually come into heat for the first time early when they are four or five months old, but some cats may come into heat later. The estrus period of male cats is generally later than that of female cats, and they first go into estrus when they are six or seven months old, but there are also a few male cats who go into estrus at four or five months old. Cats usually show symptoms of estrus from March to April or November to December. It takes about a week from the start of heat to the end.
