Treatment of broken skin wounds in dogs

1. Use scissors to cut the hair near the wound short, and then clean the wound with physiological saline. During cleaning, foreign matter is found in the wound. The owner can carefully pick it out with tweezers.

2. It is necessary to use iodophor for disinfection to prevent infection of bacteria and cause inflammation, redness and swelling of the wound.

3. After the wound is cleaned and disinfected, the owner can sprinkle the wound with Petsuhe, and the area should be larger to cover the wound. Then wrap it up with gauze and bandage.

4. Wear an Elizabethan collar on the dog to prevent the dog from biting the gauze and licking the affected area. The gauze must be changed regularly in the future, 2-3 times a day. If the wound is healing and there is no pus, the owner can reduce the number of gauze changes. If the wound becomes inflamed and pus oozes, the owner should clean the wound again.

5. During the recovery period of the dog, the owner can help the dog supplement nutrition in the diet, which can speed up the wound healing to a certain extent.

6. If the bite is caused by another animal, it is best to consult a doctor for appropriate treatment to prevent rabies infection.
