How to calculate the age of a cat

1. The age of a cat is usually calculated as one month and one year as one year. The kitten stage (0-1 years old), the adult stage (1-6 years old), the mature/middle-aged stage (7-10 years old), the old age stage (11-14 years old) and the aging stage (over 15 years old).

2. The approximate age is usually estimated by judging the cat’s teething time, growth plate closing time, etc. The owner still needs to record the exact age.

3. Kittens can estimate their age by observing the tooth replacement. Cats usually lose their canine teeth in 4 to 5 months.

4. Adult cats can estimate their age based on tooth wear.

5. Age can be estimated based on the growth of fur: a kitten is 6 months old when it moults, 6-7 years old when white whiskers appear on its mouth, and an old cat when white hair appears on its head and back and loses its luster.
