Causes of dog fights:

1. Struggle for status: Dogs and wolves originally belonged to the same ancestor. Although they have undergone a long period of evolution, they still retain their original group living habits. They fear the leader and work hard to protect their companions. When a new member appears in a nearby dog group, the dogs will not only smell each other's scent to get to know each other, but sometimes bite to establish the status of both parties.

2. Disputes over food and toys: Domestic pets do not need to worry about insufficient food, but dogs are also possessive of the things they like. Once other dogs want to snatch it, they will protect it without hesitation.

3. Spouse fight: When a female dog in estrus is present, multiple male dogs are likely to bite each other as they compete for mating rights.

4. Owner dispute: Dogs regard every member of the family as a member of their own group, so they play and live together with humans. When their owners pet other dogs or show attention, they will rush to bite other dogs.

How dogs behave before fighting:

Hold your head high and your chest up, your ears erect, the hair on the back of your neck will stand up, your tail will not wag, and it will stand up high like a stick... These body postures are all signaling to the other party that you are very powerful.

If the dog on the opposite side is scared at this time, it may wag its tail and beg for mercy, or even lie on the ground with its tail between its legs and turn its belly. Then there will usually be no war at this time. If two dogs remain in such a stalemate, a fight is inevitable.

How to prevent dog aggression:

1. When a strange dog comes into contact, both owners should fasten the leash and let them get to know each other first in a place where flowers or railings can separate each other.

2. When many dogs gather together to play, try not to distribute food or play toy throwing games to avoid conflicts between dogs fighting for each other.

3. Male dogs should try to avoid female dogs in heat when they go out to play. This can effectively avoid fights and eliminate the need to worry about accidental mating.

4. For dogs with strong jealousy, owners should try not to pet other people’s dogs in front of them.
