Methods to identify nasal branch in cats:

1. Clinically, sick cats may show sneezing, runny nose, etc. during the incubation period, but after a full-scale virus outbreak, Sick cats will have elevated body temperature, accompanied by paroxysmal coughing, increased tearing, excessive eye discharge, conjunctivitis, and purulent nasal discharge.

2. The most commonly used method to identify feline nasal branch is PCR testing, but a positive PCR may not necessarily prove that a cat has feline nasal branch, and it needs to be combined with comprehensive clinical judgment. PCR testing is more conducive to determining whether the disease is in the latent or subclinical stage. A high virus concentration in nasal secretions or tears indicates active virus replication and is related to clinical symptoms. A low concentration indicates latent infection. Of course, there are other detection methods, such as virus isolation and retrovirus detection, which are rarely used because they are more time-consuming.

Treatment methods for cat nasal branch:

1. Replenish body fluids. You can use glucose water or rehydration salts. Cats usually become anorexic due to viral infection, and rehydration is needed to prevent dehydration or exhaustion.

2. To clean up eye and nose secretions, commonly used ophthalmic drugs are ribavirin eye drops.

3. Use antibiotics to treat other infections caused by the virus. Amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium can be used when symptoms are mild, and azithromycin can be used when symptoms are severe.

4. Carry out antiviral treatment, commonly used drugs include famciclovir.
