The kitten does not urinate in the litter box. It may be because the position of the litter box is changed, and the cat will protest and refuse to defecate or urinate. Or the cat is replaced with new cat litter, and the cat cannot adapt to it for a while. Will refuse to go to the toilet on it.

Why does the kitten not urinate in the litter box

First of all, it may be because the location of the litter box has been changed. After a cat gets used to excreting in a certain place, it will go to the toilet there in the future. If the owner suddenly changes the place where it urinates, the cat will protest and refuse to defecate or urinate until the owner returns the litter box to its original position. It is recommended to place the cat litter box in an inconspicuous corner of the home to avoid frequent movement.

Secondly, the cat was given new cat litter. Once a cat gets used to using a certain type of cat litter, it will adapt to the touch and smell. If a new style of cat litter is suddenly replaced, the cat will not be able to adapt to it for a while and will refuse to use it to go to the toilet. It is recommended to mix old and new cat litter for cats, and then gradually reduce the proportion of old cat litter until the new cat litter is completely replaced. Finally, it could be cat dust irritation. Cats’ noses are very sensitive. There will be no reaction at first when using cat litter with large dust content, but after the nose is strongly irritated, they will stop excreting in it. It is recommended that owners replace cat litter with dust-free or less dust, such as crystal litter, pine sand, tofu litter, etc.
