Cats are easy to raise, and they don’t like to “tear down the house” as much as dogs. Some cats are very clingy, and cats have become pets that many people like to keep. If you keep cats in the summer, there are some things you need to pay special attention to.

The temperature in summer is high and the air is relatively humid, making cats’ food susceptible to contamination by various molds and intestinal bacteria. Therefore, cats’ food hygiene in summer is a focus of daily management. Cats are covered with fur. Except for a small number of sweat glands distributed on their toes, the rest of the body lacks sweat glands, so their ability to regulate heat is poor.

In summer, cats’ body heat is not easy to dissipate and they are prone to heatstroke, especially long-haired cats. Therefore, heat stroke in summer is another big threat to cats, so cats should be provided with a dry, cool, ventilated living environment without direct sunlight.

1. The food you feed your cat must be fresh. Do not feed your cat rotten or spoiled food.

2. Cat food in summer should be heated and cooked to kill pathogenic microorganisms and destroy certain bacterial toxins in the food; cats must not be allowed to eat raw food to prevent food poisoning.

3. The weather is hot in summer and cats often have poor appetite, so the amount of food needs to be properly controlled. If not properly controlled, cats often cannot finish their meals and there will be leftover food at each meal, resulting in waste. If a cat eats too much, it may suffer from indigestion or acute gastroenteritis.

4. The remaining food from each meal must be removed from the tableware before feeding. It should not be reused. The tableware also needs to be cleaned before use.
