British shorthair cats are described as "cobby", which means fat, stocky and short. Cobby is the perfect word for them because of their short structure, strong legs, large round head, round eyes, thick neck and tail, which is broad and pointed at the base. They are considered medium-sized cats, weighing between 10 and 16 pounds. Holding them is like holding a fat baby.

The relatively healthy standard weights of adult British Shorthair cats are: British Shorthair male cats (4.1kg-7.7kg); British Shorthair female cats (3.2kg-5.4kg). Friends, you can check it out. If it exceeds 10%-15% of your maximum weight, you are overweight!

British shorthair cats are generally strong and healthy with simple care. Some British shorthair cats suffer from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, but the proportion is very low.

But as they age, obesity can become a major problem for these cats. They love napping so much that they have no way of burning off extra calories. But this can be solved by controlling the amount of cat food every day.
