Cats’ cute feet have fascinated thousands of cat lovers, but if such tender pads are not taken care of, they can easily get sick.

What will happen if you don’t pay attention to foot care?

Not conducive to heat dissipation - Since the cat's sweat glands grow on the flesh pads, if the owner does not trim the foot hair regularly, the long foot hair will hinder the cat's heat dissipation and sweating.

It is easy to eat insect eggs - excessively long foot hair will make it easier for cats to pick up bacteria or parasite eggs during walking, and then it will be easy for cats to lick the bacteria or parasite eggs into their stomachs when cleaning their paws.

Athlete's foot - If you don't pay attention to foot hygiene, you may develop athlete's foot. The main cause of athlete's foot is bacterial growth. In severe cases, it can lead to paronychia infection, making it difficult for cats to walk.

Flesh pad ulceration - Long foot hair can easily trap dirt and bacteria. When the temperature is hot and humid, bacteria will breed. Cats' soles of the feet are too thick and cannot be cleaned adequately, which may cause the flesh pads to ulcerate.

Slip or sprain - If the hair on your feet is too long, it is easy to slip or sprain.

How should you clean and care for your feet?

Before beautifying your cat’s pads, you have to do everything possible to please it.

Don’t be too tough, you can’t beat the cat.

Cats are very good at reading people's faces. You have to be confident and stay calm at all times.

If they feel you are nervous, they will become more misbehaved and try to escape.

Because cats don’t like to have their claws played with.

If a cat’s flesh pad is touched, it will retract immediately.

If you keep pestering it, it will show a "very annoying" expression.

However, although the pads are sensitive, the cat will feel comfortable and relaxed if gently stroked.

First remove the grass blades or mud attached to the soles of the cat's feet, gently rub the foot pads, and then extend from the foot pads to the rest of the toes, and clean between the toes.

In addition, be careful not to rub your cat's paws too hard when cleaning, otherwise it will feel uncomfortable.

Then, carefully examine the entire cat's claw. Check for punctures or cuts from foreign objects on the pads and between the toes, and check for inflammation or hair loss on the backs of the paws.

After checking that there are no abnormalities in the paws, you can start to carefully scrub the cat's flesh pads and between the toes.It is recommended to use the usual cat bath liquid.

After cleaning, first dry the soles of the feet with an absorbent towel. Pay attention to drying the backs of the paws and between the toes as well. When wiping, you should also be careful not to use too much force and be gentle.

After wiping with an absorbent towel, the cat's feet are not completely dry. If they are allowed to dry naturally and cannot be dried in time when encountering a humid environment, they will easily suffer from skin diseases.

Therefore, after wiping with an absorbent towel, you need to use a pet hair dryer to blow away the cat’s uneasiness.
