There is no definite time. If cat ringworm is treated in time, it may recover faster, which may take about half a month to a month. If the owner fails to take relevant measures and cat ringworm spreads over a large area, follow-up treatment will take a relatively long time, which may take more than a month. If you have to wait for the hair to grow back, it may even take several months. Cat ringworm is mainly caused by Microsporum infection, which causes local hair loss, scabs, itching and other clinical symptoms in cats. If not controlled, systemic infection will occur.

How to treat ringworm in cats?

1. Environmental disinfection

After discovering that a cat is infected with tinea felis, the affected cat must be isolated in time to reduce its range of activities. The cat's food bowl and cat litter must also be disinfected. They can be wiped and cleaned with diluted disinfectant water. Floors and furniture must be wiped and cleaned with diluted disinfectant water.

2. Cut off the hair in the affected area

Feline tinea fungus spores easily attach to hair, and cutting the hair can reduce fungal expansion. Wear gloves and gently pick up a handful of hair. Do not use clippers (which may spread the spores) and use scissors to trim a circle of hair around the affected area at the base of the skin.

3. Full body bath

It is generally recommended to use 2% miconazole lotion, combined with chlorhexidine if necessary. During the bathing process and before the cat's hair is dry, be sure to wear an Elizabethan collar to prevent licking, otherwise it may cause poisoning of the cat. Topical treatments may have limited effectiveness, and full-body cleansing twice a week is generally recommended. Healthy cats will probably see significant improvement in the affected area within two to three weeks, but even if significant improvement has occurred, they must continue to take medication as directed by the doctor. The spores produced by the fungus are everywhere and can be spread through many ways. It is very easy to relapse, so you must insist on taking medication.
