Congratulations to the shit-shoveling gentleman for being blessed with the "dragon seed"! But it also means that I have to do my best to take good care of the little kitten. Come and get the key points of taking care of the kitten!

1. Keep warm

Temperature is very important for kittens, because cats' bodies are temporarily unable to produce enough heat to sustain life, so kittens generally rely on the mother cat's body temperature to stay warm. Therefore, parents should pay attention to whether the kitten is too far away from the mother cat, otherwise it may easily lead to hypothermia and death!

For kittens that do not have a mother to take care of them, they should pay more attention to keeping warm. Parents can put a warm mattress on the kitten in a relatively high cardboard box, or even put a heating blanket on it, but be careful not to overheat to prevent low-temperature burns.

2. Feeding

If the mother cat is here, everything will be easier, but babies without a mother cat will need parents to do it themselves. Use a medical syringe to feed warm goat milk (the mixing ratio is stated in the instructions for pet goat milk powder. Do not intentionally increase the concentration. Overly thick milk will not only fail to be absorbed, but may even cause diarrhea.)

Amount and frequency: For newborn kittens, the average feeding amount is 2-4 ml each time, once every two hours. The specific amount can be adjusted appropriately depending on the size of the kitten. This will be determined if the kitten stops meowing when it is full. As the kitten grows older, the amount of food each time should be gradually increased, and the time between feedings can also be extended.

3. Stimulate defecation

Kittens before 20 days old will not excrete on their own. A mother's child is like a treasure, so the mother cat will lick the cat's lower abdomen and anus to promote defecation. When artificially feeding, you can use a clean cotton swab dipped in warm water after each feeding and gently massage their little buttocks to stimulate their defecation and urination.

This is the key point for you to change your career to a nursing cat. I hope your baby cat can grow up healthily and become the "head of the family" as soon as possible.
