Cuteness and friendliness are the personality traits of Flat-Coated Retrievers. They are always eager to go out and play, no matter what. It can treat you very kindly to other dogs, pets, children, and even strangers, and can be a good companion. Although they are very active and like to go out, after proper training, they can be quite quiet and peaceful even indoors.

Appearance characteristics of the Flat-Coated Retriever:

1. The Flat-Coated Retriever has a strong body and looks neat overall. The ideal shoulder height range for males is approximately 23 to 24.5 inches, and for females, the ideal shoulder height range is approximately 22 to 23.5 inches. As a retriever that works in difficult conditions, they appear to be very capable. The dog's head is long and neat, and its expression is alert, intelligent and friendly. The eyes are medium in size, almond-shaped, dark brown or hazel in color, and set relatively wide apart.

2. The ears are relatively small and well-positioned, the nose is large, and the nostrils are open. The color is determined by the dog's coat, black for black dogs and brown for liver-colored dogs. The lips are fairly tight, firm, clean and dry.
