Female cats can be neutered in summer. The time for cat sterilization is not strictly related to the season. Cats can be sterilized all year round, but care should be taken to avoid the cat's estrus period. Female cats become sexually mature at about six months and go into heat for the first time at about nine months. Neutering can be done after the cat's heat has stabilized. Regardless of whether you perform sterilization surgery on a cat in any season, you must pay attention to the cat’s postoperative care to avoid wound infection.

Precautions for cat sterilization surgery in summer:

1. The weather is hot in summer, which can easily cause infections and other problems. Cat owners should strengthen care to avoid cat infections.

2. Wear an Elizabethan circle. Prevent the cat from licking the wound and chewing the sutures.

3. Take a bath one week before the operation, and do not take a bath for one month after the operation.

4. You can turn on the air conditioner to maintain the temperature (usually not lower than 26°C), which is beneficial to the cat’s wound recovery.

5. It is recommended to use anti-inflammatory drugs by injection three days after the operation, and to take good care and disinfection of the wound.
