Otters can be raised at home. Breeding of wild otters is not allowed in my country. However, there are pet otters on the market that are allowed to be kept by individuals. Artificially bred otters can be raised, but a breeding license is required. The requirements for such documents are not low. It is difficult for individuals to meet the requirements. Only specialized farmers who apply through the Forestry Bureau, Animal Husbandry Bureau and other relevant departments can legally breed.

Although otters can be raised at home, they are difficult to raise. Things to note when raising domestic otters:

1. Space: When raising otters, you need to provide them with enough space. Let them move around in it. Specifically, both terrestrial and water environments are needed. It is best to prepare a room specifically for them, with a size of about 2.8*3.5 meters. You can put some rockeries, tree stumps and other things in it to make it more like a wild environment and more conducive to their growth. A special pool must be prepared for the dead, where they can usually play in it.

2. Food: Judging from the eating habits of otters, they are carnivores, so they must be provided with sufficient meat. The food of artificially bred otters is similar to that of wild otters. You can feed them some freshwater fish, shrimps, crabs, clams, pork, etc. You can also feed them some vegetables. It is best not to buy otters that have not yet been weaned. Such otters are not easy to feed and they need to be fed every day until they are weaned.

3. Cleanliness issues: When raising otters, you must also pay attention to cleanliness issues. Watery excrement needs to be cleaned up regularly. The water in the pool also needs to be kept clean. At this time, the water needs to be changed according to the situation.
