Little lizards do not recognize their owners. They are cold-blooded animals and generally do not have the ability to recognize their owners. But if the owner feeds it properly, the lizard will develop conditioned reflexes. When a lizard is kept for a long time, it will become familiar with the owner's smell, sound, and movements, and will develop conditioned reflex behaviors accordingly. If it accepts someone's touch, it shows that it is friendly.

Methods of raising lizards

1. To raise a pet lizard in a tank, you need to prepare a larger container for it first, with at least one side as long as the lizard's body. 2.5 times, which can be prepared according to the size of the pet lizard. Put some rocks and some sand in the container, and plant some plants to give the lizard a place to hide and rest. You also need to place a water basin. Some lizards not only need to drink water, but also need regular baths. If the container is a sealed glass box or tank, ventilation holes must be provided next to it. It is best to use a reptile terrarium with a glass door in the front and sand mesh on both sides so that there is good ventilation.

2. Different species of lizards can be determined according to the food habits of the lizards. Most lizards eat meat, so you can prepare them with insects such as cockroaches, mealworms, and earthworms sold in the market. However, lizard species that eat both plants, such as skinks, American iguanas, and water dragons, do not eat meat. You can prepare vegetables and fruits for them.

Small lizards can be fed crickets, and if they can be swallowed, newborn mice with higher nutritional value can be fed. For medium to large lizards, choose white rats of various sizes to feed them according to their body shape. When there are not enough white mice, you can also feed meat, liver, cat food and other foods. Feeding only insects will result in insufficient calcium and vitamin intake, so special nutrients should be added appropriately.

3. Lizards are cold-blooded animals that rely on external temperature. Some lizards prefer sunshine and warm places. You can let the lizards bask in the sun every day. Light can make it feel warm and its body temperature can be appropriately raised, which is beneficial to increasing its activity. There will be some excrement, excess food and other debris in the environment where lizards live, which must be cleaned up in time when breeding.
