Guinea pigs are afraid of both cold and heat, and are suitable for growing in an environment around 22°C. High-temperature environments in summer and low-temperature environments in winter will affect their normal growth. If the temperature is higher than 25°C in summer, they will suffer from heat stroke. If the temperature is lower than 25°C, they will suffer from heat stroke. At 15°C, the growth rate of guinea pigs will slow down. At around 0°C, if measures to keep warm are not taken, they will freeze to death.

Precautions for raising guinea pigs

1. In order to prevent guinea pigs from suffering from heatstroke in summer, cooling needs to be done. The mouse cage can be maintained in a cool environment and ensure adequate drinking water. When the air is dry, water needs to be sprayed around the cage frequently to cool down and humidify.

2. When raising guinea pigs in winter, you need to prepare a warm cage and place cotton and sawdust in the cage to keep warm. Before winter, you need to feed more oily foods such as peanuts and melon seeds to store enough fat to survive the winter smoothly.
