Snow squirrels can give birth to 3 to 4 children in a litter, and can have 2 to 3 litters per year. Snow squirrels are in estrus in February, March, June and July every year, and female rats will go into estrus frequently. Snow squirrels can give birth to pups in a short gestation period of about 38 days, but frequent births will affect the health of the mother rat. It is recommended not to allow the mother rat to give birth frequently. It is also difficult to raise too many offspring. When raising a snow squirrel baby, you can feed it low-sugar milk to supplement nutrients and appropriate vegetables and fruits.

Precautions for snow squirrel pregnancy:

1. Do not disturb the mother rat too much during pregnancy. Prepare food every day until the cub is born.

2. The gestation period of a female snow squirrel is about thirty-eight days. One to two weeks before the expected delivery date, the female rat can be placed in a breeding box, and the male and female rats can be raised in separate cages. During this period, water and food can be placed in the cage to supplement the mother rat's nutrition.
