Give a new kitten a good living environment, check the cat’s diet and drinking water frequently, and try not to change the cat’s food midway.

Pet cats adapt relatively slowly to new environments and are prone to stress reactions. They may become anxious and depressed because they are temporarily unable to adapt to the new environment. In the most serious cases, their lives may be in danger. Therefore, before a new cat enters the house, the owner must make preparations so that the cat can have a good environment from the moment it enters the house.

The most important thing for a cat after arriving at its new home is the first time it eats cat food and drinks its first water. Here are a few things to note when a cat has just entered a new home:

1. First of all, the owner should give the cat a quiet environment and do not let children make noises to it. When it first enters the house, the cat is still nervous, and playing with children will make it more alert. Only in a quiet environment can it feel relaxed and eat with confidence.

2. Check the cat’s food and water every two hours to see if it is eating and drinking, and whether its excretion is normal. After the examination, remember to play with the cat for a while, bring some snacks and cat toys, and communicate with it to increase its affection.

3. Put some catnip in the cat’s activity area and arrange some scratching posts and other toys. If possible, take some living items from its original place so that the cat can become familiar with it as soon as possible.

4. If you haven’t eaten or drank for a whole day after coming back, you should pay attention to it and contact the previous owner or send it to the doctor as soon as possible.

5. Please do not give it a bath within a month. It is easy for the cat's resistance to decrease. Please wait until the cat adapts to the new environment before giving it a safe bath.

6. Please do not change cat food within a month. Cats are picky eaters, so don’t change their food rations first in a new environment, otherwise the cat will easily go hungry, and then slowly change their food after they stabilize.
