Generally speaking, cat owners at home are very attentive to feeding their cats, especially when it comes to food matching. Because cats’ gastrointestinal tract is relatively fragile, people often feed some pure milk to cats. So, can cats drink it?

Cats cannot drink pure milk, from two aspects

1. The nutrients in pure milk are difficult for cats to break down and absorb.

2. The lactose contained in pure milk can cause diarrhea in cats.

Pure milk has relatively high nutritional value for humans, but due to the body structure of cats, it is not suitable for cats to drink. Drinking too much may even cause some side effects.

Cats cannot drink pure milk for two reasons.

First, milk has relatively high nutritional content and cannot be decomposed by a cat’s fragile stomach. Drinking pure milk will cause a certain burden on the cat’s body.

Secondly, pure milk generally contains higher levels of lactose. After lactose enters the cat's body, it will cause diarrhea and loose stools to a large extent, so pure milk is not suitable for cats to drink.

When feeding cats, people always want to give their cats some nutritious and softened food to better meet their fragile gastrointestinal needs. However, the lactose contained in pure milk is not suitable for cats to drink. If you want to supplement nutrients such as milk for cats, you can choose low-lactose goat milk
