How do you know if your cat has been vaccinated?

There are two main ways to know whether a cat has been vaccinated. The first is to ask the cat owner to provide the cat’s immunity certificate, or to go with the owner to a pet hospital that vaccinates to check the vaccination records. The second is to take the cat to a pet hospital for an antibody test to detect the antibody level in its body. If the antibody concentration in the antibody test reaches the standard, it proves that the cat has been vaccinated.

1. Check the immunity certificate or vaccination record

If the cat is purchased from a cattery or adopted, the previous owner can provide the immunity certificate for the cat when it was vaccinated. If you do not have an immunity certificate, you can also go to the vaccination pet hospital with the previous owner to check the vaccination records.

2. Do an antibody test

If conditions permit, the owner can also take the cat to the pet hospital for antibody testing. If the cat's antibody test result is high, it can be confirmed that it has been vaccinated, and then annual vaccinations and rabies vaccines can be boosted. If the cat's antibody level is insufficient, the owner needs to consider whether re-injection or booster vaccination is needed. If your cat’s antibody levels are insufficient, your cat may be more susceptible to disease.
