Why don't cats like water?

Cats originated in arid deserts and had little contact with water during their evolution. Therefore, most cats have no experience in dealing with water and are very afraid of water. Moreover, when the cat takes a bath, the fur all over the body is wet, and the wetness sticks heavily to the body, making it unable to move quickly. Wet fur is very uncomfortable for cats and often takes a long time to dry. Cats have reduced agility and are more likely to be caught by predators.

Methods for letting cats accept bathing:

1. Let cats accept bathing. Let the cat become familiar with the bathroom environment in advance and let the cat know that this place is not threatening to itself. It will be relatively docile when taking a bath.

2. Grooming is something that cats like and enjoy, so before you prepare to bathe it, you can comb it first to put it in a relaxed state.

3. It is best to choose a bathtub. The water surface should not exceed the cat’s belly, otherwise the cat will lose its sense of security. You can put a non-slip mat under the cat’s feet, or a small blanket that the cat usually uses. It will increase the cat's sense of security.
