Disadvantages of artificial insemination in rabbits:

1. Increased metritis in female rabbits. It is often caused by poor artificial insemination techniques, causing damage to female rabbits.

2. Low pregnancy rate. Artificial insemination is not as natural as the natural combination of sperm and egg, and the number of fertilized eggs implanted is small.

3. Low productivity. Artificial insemination often results in stillbirths and miscarriages, and often only a few rabbits can be born healthy.

Precautions for artificial insemination of rabbits:

1. Avoid forced insemination. When the female rabbit is struggling, her back and waist are arched, her hind limbs are touching objects, and she is struggling, do not force insemination to avoid causing damage to the female rabbit.

2. Strict disinfection. Before absorbing semen, the insemination gun should be washed twice with semen diluent, and then the semen diluent should be shaken off before pouring in semen.

3. Reduce semen shock. During the insemination process, the shock to the semen should be reduced. If oxygen is incorporated into the semen during the shock, sperm activity will increase, sperm energy will be consumed, and sperm failure and death will be accelerated.
