During the molting period of the Brazilian turtle, a white translucent film will appear on the body. Some will fall off on their own, and some will continue to be attached to the turtle shell. It is a normal physiological phenomenon for a Brazilian turtle to shed its skin, and keepers do not need to worry. This means that it is growing. If the Brazilian turtle does not molt, it is a sign of poor growth. Generally speaking, the Brazilian turtle's body will molt once every 0.15mm in length.

How to distinguish the molted skin and rotten skin of Brazilian turtle:

1. The colors of molted skin and rotten skin are different. Turtle peeling skin is usually translucent, while rotten skin is mostly dark yellow or white.

2. The texture of peeling skin and bean curd skin are different. The touch of turtle peeling skin is different from that of rotten skin. The texture of peeling skin is relatively hard, but when you touch turtle rotten skin, you will only feel like you are touching a paste-like ulcer.

3. The area and shape of peeling skin and rotten skin are different. Under normal circumstances, when a turtle peels off its skin, it falls off in a complete piece, and the peeled skin will clearly retain the texture of the turtle itself, while the rotten skin is usually a blurry piece.
