Solutions to swollen gills of parrot fish:

1. Observe the activity of the fish. If the respiratory rate of the gills increases and the gill covers expand, you can see that there is a problem with the gills. Open the gill cover. If you see that the gills are blooming white, have white floc, and are covered with thick mucus, it means there is a problem. Healthy fish gills are bright red.

2. Isolated breeding. Isolate the sick parrot fish separately and raise them in an isolation tank. In order to avoid the stimulation of changes in water quality, the original tank water should be used or mixed with new water that has been dried.

3. disinfect in the isolation tank. Use insecticides in the isolation tank to eliminate microorganisms parasitic on fish gills, and use them according to the instructions.

4. Medicinal bath for sick fish. Fish the sick fish individually into a small basin and soak them in 0.5% potassium permanganate for 10 minutes, then fish them back into the isolation tank. Add 5% salt to the isolation tank to inhibit bacterial growth.

5. Improve the environment. The isolation tank needs to be oxygenated and heated to 32 to 34 degrees.
