Cockatiels can lay 3 to 5 eggs for the first time. Under normal circumstances, cockatiels are sexually mature when they are 8 months old. They can breed when they are one year old. The annual breeding period is from August to December. The number of eggs a cockatiel lays for the first time depends on its physique and nutrition. Some cockatiels with good health and rich nutrition can lay 10 eggs at a time.

Things to note when the cockatiel is laying eggs:

1. Prepare a comfortable and spacious nest for the cockatiel. In summer, ensure that the nest is ventilated and not too large. Heat it up and clean it regularly. Prepare enough clean water and food for Xuanfeng.

2. Try to disturb the Xuanfeng as little as possible, but check the safety of the eggs regularly to avoid being stepped on by big birds. It takes about 20 days for the little Xuanfeng to emerge from its shell.

3. After completing the hatching task of the cockatiel, if you still want to breed, you need to wait another 2 months. Do not give birth frequently, as it is not good for the female cockatiel's health.
