Leechies do not recognize their owners. Leeches are cold-blooded annelids and their main lifestyle is to suck the blood or body fluids of animals. At the same time, it is a lower creature, without thoughts, and only relies on sense organs to perceive. Not only do they not recognize their owners, they are also very likely to suck the owner's blood. They are dangerous to humans and are not recommended as pets.

Precautions for raising leeches

1. The bait for leeches is fresh blood clots from vertebrates such as pigs, cattle, sheep, etc., or dried blood powder. It can be put on the bait table by the pool at 5 to 6 pm every day. It is required that half of the bait table is on the water and half is in the water. This can not only attract leeches to suck, but also prevent water pollution. Generally, feeding is done every 5 to 7 days, and remaining blood clots must be removed in time to prevent deterioration and water pollution.

2. The water body should be replaced in time, usually once every 7 to 10 days. When changing the water, do not replace most or all of it, but only half of it at most each time to prevent large changes in temperature from affecting the leech's digestion or causing other diseases. The old water at the bottom can be pumped out first, and then new water can be injected.

3. Stock more aquatic plants. Mainly water hyacinth and duckweed, because leeches are afraid of direct sunlight, and water hyacinth and duckweed are not only feed for field snails, but also can shade the leeches, and the leeches can also lay eggs on them.

4. Leeches reproduce in the soil under the cover, not in the water. During the breeding period, if the water overflows the soil bed for about 7 days, the leech eggs will die due to lack of oxygen. Pay attention to maintaining a suitable water level to ensure successful breeding.
