1. Excessive secretions and irritation from foreign bodies. The owner should first open and check the cat's eyes to observe the condition of the cat's eyes. If there is a large amount of secretions or foreign bodies on the surface of the eyes, causing the cat's entire eyes to be covered, the owner can use saline or eyewash to clean out the foreign bodies and secretions, and then check the cat's eyes again after cleaning. The owner can go to the pet hospital to get some eye drops or eye ointment for the cat. If the cat is in serious condition, do not use medicine at will and need to seek medical treatment in time.

2. It may be a viral infection. If a cat is infected with calicivirus or herpes virus, it may develop eye problems, and the virus will be carried for life. Once a cat's immunity declines, it will still have corresponding symptoms. The owner must vaccinate the cat.

3. Caused by getting angry. Cats who don’t drink enough water on a daily basis and eat foods that are too greasy, contain too much salt, and have too many seasonings and additives will get angry. After cats get angry, their eye secretions will increase, causing the upper and lower eyelids to stick together with the secretions.

4. Cat conjunctivitis. Generally, cats' inability to open their eyes is mostly due to certain eye diseases, such as conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, foreign bodies, keratitis and other diseases. If it is caused by a viral infection, usually the cat will not only be unable to open its eyes, but will also be accompanied by other symptoms such as elevated body temperature, loss of appetite, runny nose, cough, etc.

5. Eye injuries. It is also possible that the cat accidentally bumped into the eye while playing, causing congestion and swelling in the eye, causing the cat to be unable to open its eyes.

6. Trichiasis of the eyes. Trichiasis in the eyes will cause the cat to be unable to open its eyes. It is recommended that the owner take the cat to the hospital for treatment in time.

A white film appears on the cat’s eyes that cannot be opened:

1. Conjunctivitis. If a cat's eyes have an albuginea, the owner should note that the cat's albuginea is the membrane that covers the eyeball when the cat's eyes are closed. When the cat opens its eyes, the membrane does not close up, causing the cat to close its eyes and be unable to open them. It means the cat may have conjunctivitis, etc. There are many causes of conjunctivitis: such as feline herpes virus infection, also known as feline nasal congestion. The cat may have difficulty breathing and have runny nose. Such as bacterial infection. Cats may shed tears, have red and swollen eyes, etc.

2. Keratitis. The main causes of keratitis in cats include bacterial infection, viral infection, trauma, entropion, etc. It is recommended that the owner take the cat to the pet hospital for examination in time, analyze the cause of its keratitis, and then provide corresponding treatment. It is better to treat it as soon as possible.
