Cats are not afraid of cucumbers.

The reasons for the saying “cats are afraid of cucumbers”:

1. Cats can only recognize a few colors and are very sensitive to green and yellow objects.

2. Easily frightened in a relaxed state. Regardless of whether it is a cat or a human being, if an object suddenly appears in front of their eyes in a relaxed state, they will be startled, let alone a green object that cats are sensitive to.

3. Because the color and lines of cucumbers are similar to those of snakes, cats will mistake cucumbers for snakes and will react fearfully because they are worried about being attacked by it.

Precautions for feeding cats:

1. Feed cats at regular times and at fixed times. Cats do not like to eat in the presence of strong light or noise. When guests come to visit, do not let the guests watch the cat while the cat is eating, otherwise it will greatly reduce the cat’s appetite. Once a cat's biological clock for "eating" is formed, it is relatively fixed and should not be changed at will.

2. The cat’s food plate must be used permanently and cannot be replaced casually. Newspaper or plastic paper can be placed under the food plate to prevent the food plate from making noise when it slides, and it is also easy to clean. The leftover food that the cat eats should be collected or thrown away, and then mixed with fresh food and cooked before being fed to the cat at the next feeding time.

3. Cats like to eat warm food. Cold food can easily cause digestive disorders and affect the cat’s appetite. Under normal circumstances, food taken out of the refrigerator should be heated before feeding. The appropriate temperature of the food should be 30-40°C.

4. Cats have the bad habit of taking food out of the food plate or using claw hooks to get food. Once this phenomenon is discovered, they must be trained immediately to correct it.
