How domestic cats can be infected with rabies:
1. Domestic cats come into contact with daily necessities of rabid animals.
2. Domestic cats go to places where rabid animals live or sleep together.
3. Domestic cats were scratched or bitten when fighting with rabid animals.
4. Domestic cats mate with cats carrying rabies virus.
5. Mother-to-child transmission of domestic cats can also cause rabies.
Symptoms of domestic cats infected with rabies:
1. The initial symptoms will include abnormal movements. Domestic cats may become manic, excited, or bite and scratch abnormally.
2. Rabies reaction will occur in the mid-term. The virus infects the brain, causing cats to become confused, twitch, and spasm.
3. The terminal symptoms include loss of self-control. It is highly aggressive and the cat's brain is completely out of control and cannot be cured.
4. Cats infected with rabies virus will become mentally depressed, foam at the mouth, and die of kidney failure.
