Xuanfeng is equivalent to the IQ of a human being between 3 and 4 years old. Cockatiels are considered to have relatively high IQs among parrots. After being raised and trained by humans, they can learn to speak some simple words, and some smarter cockatiels will also tell jokes to their owners. Although it has a lower IQ than other pets, it is humane and is a good partner of humans.

Things to note when raising cockatiels:

1. Diet. Cockatiels can eat nourishing pills as their staple food, coupled with shelled grains such as rice, corn, and wheat, and fruits and vegetables such as apples and carrots to supplement nutrition. They can eat them three or four times a week.

2. Environment. To ensure the health of your cockatiel, owners need to clean and disinfect its living area regularly. Feces, feathers, and a dirty and humid environment are breeding grounds for bacteria. Environmental pollution will not only harm the health of your parrot, but also the health of your family.

3. Temperature. Cockatiels are afraid of heat, and high temperatures in summer can easily cause heatstroke. Owners need to keep indoor ventilation, provide adequate drinking water, and give the parrot a water bath every day to prevent the parrot from heatstroke.
